Answers to common questions.
Do I need NMEA 2000 to use SeaNode?
No. SeaNode can work with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, or both at once. If you have at least one NMEA data source on board, SeaNode can listen and broadcast it.
Does SeaNode require an always-on internet connection?
SeaNode works fine in local-only mode, rebroadcasting data over Wi-Fi to devices on the boat. When an internet uplink is available, it syncs to SeaLink.cloud automatically.
How do SMS alerts work?
Anchor and system alerts are generated in SeaLink.cloud and sent over standard SMS. You can configure which events trigger alerts and what numbers to contact.
Can I monitor multiple boats?
Yes. SeaLink.cloud Pro and upcoming fleet features are built specifically for multi-vessel owners, charter operators, and small commercial fleets.
